I first want to say that in my study process, I must have read all of kaplan books, goljan, and some BRS books. I spent so much time doing this but my scores were not improving much. You learn something really well, then 1 month later its lost in translation. I was getting very frustrated. At that point I decided to put all my faith into this book as well as U world. The key is to read this thing over and over, to the point were you see the pages in your mind. Do all of U world and wright notes into your first aid. In the end of doing all the questions youll have a excelent source. I can't stress this book enough. I got to the point were i could read this book in one week, and in one month I improved my NBME scores by 40 points. Lastly, U world assesment is almost identical to the actual test, the nbmes are slightly easier. I hope this helps you in your studies.
Customer rating is 2 of 5  Love the book but I don't like the Kindle Version   2010-01-14
By Mulan Carviel (California, USA)
I love the book just like most people who reviewed it. However, I purchased it for my new Kindle and the only texts I could read are from the introduction pages. The content itself is microscopic, even after I adjusted the font to the largest setting possible. I'm extremely dissapointed!!! So I ended up getting a refund. Thanks Amazon for understanding. First-Aid publishers please solve this problem!
Otherwise, the book is awesome!

First Aid is essential for Step 1 prep. I would recommend buying it at the start of your second year, so you can read the chapters along with your corresponding courses. Don't worry that you won't have the newest edition that comes out in January (I think) each year. They just try to make it a little better each time, but the basic information is still there and it will be worth it to have read through the major chapters already when you get closer to boards. It also has useful tips that will help you on your course exams, but it probably won't be enough for those exams.
