Description
WHAT . . . A RIOT!

Life doesn't get extra hilarious than when Chelsea Handler takes aim together with her irreverent wit. Who else would send all-staff emails to smoke out the dumbest people on her show? Now, in this new collection of original essays, the #1 bestselling author of Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea brings one laugh-out-loud moment afterwards another as she sets her sights on the ridiculous side of childhood, adulthood, and daughterhood.

Family moments are fair strategy, whether it's writing a report on Reaganomics to earn a Cabbage Patch doll, or teaching her father social graces by ordering him to stay indoors. It's open season on her love life, from playing a prank on her boyfriend (utilizing a ravioli, a fake autopsy, and the Santa Monica pier) to adopting a dog so she can snuggle together with someone who doesn't speak. And everyone better duck for cover when her beach vacation turns into matchmaking gone wild. Outrageously funny and deliciously wicked, CHELSEA CHELSEA BANG BANG is good good good good!

CHELSEA HANDLER ON...

Being unpopular: "My parents couldn't have been extra unreasonable when it came to fads or clothes this weren't bought at a pharmacy."

Living together with her boyfriend: "He's similar to a large toddler, the only difference being he doesn't cry when he wakes up."

Appreciating her brother: "He's a certified public accountant, and I have a real life."

Arm-wrestling a maid of honor:"It wasn't her strength this intimidated me. It was the starry way her eyes focused on me, like Mike Tyson getting ready to feed."

I did not like this book at all. It started OK at first, but very quickly went downhill. What a complete waste of money and time! The chapter about her as a child was so over the top and actually sickening. There is nothing redeeming about this book.
I could barely finish it, very boring, not funny trash. Save your money.

Read her other two book which were hillarious!!! This book not so. I laughed perhaps twice. Very disappointing.

Chelsea is back! After reading Are You There Vodka, I was laughing with every turn of the page. I wasn't sure how it could be better, but I was very pleasantly surprised. The pictures to go along with the stories was genius!

I read the first reviewers comments on the book. While I can confirm the grammatical errors in the book, it happens. That is the editors job and doesn't have a lot to do with the content.

The first reviewer also did not like the first chapter. For me, that was the funniest part of the book. A cronically masturbating 8 year old is funny stuff. When the reviewer said they felt nauseated by the chapter, that told me more about them than anything else!

I also felt the emails between the family members were funny. It made me wish my family members could be as comical in their correspondence. Unfortunately, they don't even know how to email.

This was my first Handler book. If fact, I don't even watch the show. That will certainly change now. I was laughing in every section. The book was a quick read. Because of the way it is written, it is also a good book to set down and pick up in the middle of another book. You know...for a break.

Second fav. section...Grey Gardens. Who can't relate to that chapter?

Love Chelsea Handler and her TV show, but her real comic genius came across in her first two books. Unfortunately that genius wasn't apparent in this third one, where she seems to have gotten lazy and gone totally Hollywood. She's at her best describing her and her friends' outrageous encounters with random men, but those stories are sorely lacking in this book. I definitely don't want to read about her high-class lifestyle, that's just no fun. Yet, we have to find out about her new condo and how she's fighting with her old boyfriend about whether to get a dolphin for it. They settle on a shark instead. Yeah. She also talks about living near the marina and how she loves to fly in helicopters. Thanks, I'll get right on that.
